Aloft, 1/1
Subtitled Soaring Hawk. "Whether in migration or on site for its spring and summer residency, hawks will soar for a variety of reasons. Their courtship rituals may include time in the sky wherein the male will demonstrate his fitness to the female. Certainly a hawk will ascend skyward where it can scout for prey below or patrol its territorial borders. I wonder too if there may be an element of delight the bird feels being aloft against the clouds." - Tony Angell
Tony Angell developed and strengthened his skills through drawing and sculpting from life, often through study of the wild creatures he personally rehabilitated. Angell’s paintings, drawings, and sculptures capture the characteristics and gestures of his subjects, beautifully communicating moments he has witnessed in the wild. Telling the stories of the animals who inspire his work, Angell’s work continues to expand our appreciation of the uniqueness and personalities each living thing exudes.
