JOSHUA JENSEN-NAGLE
Photographer Joshua Jensen-Nagle has focused his career on capturing beautiful places, allowing viewers to be transported to the locales of his evocative photographs through his singular aesthetic. Best known for his dreamy large-scale beaches and romantic European vistas, Jensen-Nagle’s photographs of faraway places impart a nostalgic mood on the viewer. While each location has unique characteristics, he is interested in finding the elements that connect them and gives them commonality. Often the people in his compositions lounge on the beach in torpor or float in emerald seas in a relentless pursuit of leisure. Adding to the romance of the images themselves, Jensen-Nagle gives his photographs titles that lend to their sense of emotion, poeticizing the images and aiding viewers in bringing their own experiences to the work.
Jensen-Nagle holds a BFA in Image Arts and Photographic Studies from Ryerson University, Toronto, ON. His photographs have been part of solo and group exhibitions across North America including at Griffin Museum of Photography, Winchester, MA and the Glenbow Museum, Calgary, AB. His work was also part of an exhibition at Naturwissenschaftliches Museum, Flensburg, Germany. He has received extensive press coverage including National Geographic Poland, a feature on the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, and dozens of others. Jensen-Nagle’s photographs are in many prestigious art collections including Cirque du Soleil, Montreal, QB, and Microsoft, Redmond, WA.
