JEFFREY MILSTEIN
A professional photographer, graphic designer, and architect, Milstein infuses his photography with his lifelong creative passion and fascination for flight. His trained eye and steady hand produce images of pristine clarity. Using photographic post-processing techniques, he distills the subject from the background to focus attention on design, color, and symmetry. Milstein’s supersized prints seem to the viewer into the air, inviting them to experience the world from above.
Milstein holds a BA in Architecture from the University of California, Berkeley. Over his career he has shown his photographs extensively across the world, including at the Scottish National Portrait Gallery, Edinburgh, UK, the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum, Washington, DC, and Portland Art Museum, Portland, OR, among dozens of others. Milstein has been the recipient of numerous prestigious awards, such as PX3 Prie De La Photographie Paris, Paris, FR, Communication Arts 2020 Photography Awards, Books, Menlo Park, CA, and was the Gold Award Winner from Graphis Photography Annual in 2020 for his series, Paris. His work has been featured in publications such as Fortune, Wired, The New York Times, TIME, GQ, Huffington Post, Condé Nast Traveller, and Esquire. Milstein’s photographs are part of collections like those of the Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles, CA, Musée de l’Elysée, Lausanne, Switzerland, Middlebury College Museum of Art, Middlebury, VT, George Eastman Museum, Rochester, NY, and the Bank of America Art Collection.
