Artist Will Robinson has the ability to convey through the elegance of his large stone sculptures that their creation is effortless. Lush green stones balance impossibly atop white granite bases, some with moss still encouraged to grow on their surfaces. His sculptures emphasize the contrast between cut and polished aspects of the stones, highlighting the natural properties in each. Often looking to nature and the elements within it for inspiration, Robinson's sculptures capture a myriad of subtleties such as the undulations of sails in the wind, the flukes of a whale, or the outline of a bird's wing in motion.
Robinson studied History at the University of Washington. He has shown his sculptures at galleries across North America, including at the Southern Vermont Arts Center, Manchester, VT, SOFA Exposition, Chicago, IL, and around the Pacific Northwest. His work has been selected for a number of public art collections, and is in dozens of private collections.
