CODY COBB
Cody Cobb’s striking photographs communicate the solitude of the remote locations he makes them, immersed in untouched wilderness. This isolation allows for more sensitive observations of both the external landscape as well as the internal experience. His perspective allows him to frame the landscape dramatically, capturing both the serenity and vastness. Cobb allows himself to be vulnerable to the elements as he explores and works, allowing nature to be the only voice in his photographs. His portraits of the Earth's surface are an attempt to capture the emotion of the land as much as the topography.
Cobb has shown his work across the country and in London, UK, Sydney, Australia, and Moscow, Russia. He and his work have received extensive press coverage including features in Wired, Photograph Magazine, and PhotoLucida among others. Seven of Cobb’s photographs won in the International Photography Exhibition Award from the Royal Photographic Society, based in London, UK. He was also awarded the 2nd Place Center’s Curator’s Choice Award from CENTER, Santa Fe, NM. His work is part of prestigious private collections.
