WILL ROBINSON | TIME TRAVELER | ADVANCE PREVIEW
November 7 - 23, 2024
Opening First Thursday, November 7, 6 - 8 pm
Artist in attendance
When viewing Will Robinson’s sculptures, the raw, untouched surfaces of rocks as old as time remain plain to see. Through his process, cuts are made and forms brought forth. Surfaces are worked and varied, but the stone itself is never fully obscured. Robinson has a deep appreciation for the durability of stone and the forces which formed it eons ago.
In response to this medium, he intuitively imparts his story, creating sculptures evocative of the forces of nature or referencing the fauna of the Northwest. At times the works are figural, inspired by the movement of the body or exist as characters unto themselves. After decades of personal artistic evolution, Robinson considers his own timeline in parallel with the journey of these ancient rocks. He is reminded that they were here long before us, and they will remain long after.
Additional works not featured online will be available to view in gallery during the First Thursday opening.
