David Alexander’s signature waterscapes and landscapes push reality to abstraction. He utilizes a bold palette and gestural, seemingly erratic paint application. The resulting paintings are evocative of place but most often driven by emotion and color. Surfaces of water and broader landscapes become abstract fields of color, distorted reflections and energetic shapes mingling.
