ALLISON COLLINS | WARP, WEFT AND LANDLINES

October 1 - 24, 2026
Opening First Thursday, October 1, 6 - 8 pm
Artist in Attendance

Last summer, my daughter took us to the Museum of Modern Art to see an exhibition entitled Woven Histories: Textiles and Modern Abstraction. For me, it was the beginning of change in my new work, combining verticals and horizontals with sweeping landlines.

Some of these paintings refer to places I’ve been. Personal landscapes I see every day or fond memories, patches of sunlight and shadow.

The elements of painting remain the same. Layers of vivid, warm, cool, color, texture, scratch through lines, quilted squares turn into patchwork crops. — Allison Collins
