KWONNY

kwonny is a Korean-American mixed media artist creating figurative works that feature animals and folkloric figures often depicted mid -fight or -flight. The flattening of these forms and the spaces surrounding them offer compositional and conceptual devices, mirroring tensions between predator and prey, history and mythology, and the imbalances faced within the anthropocene. She began creating work in 2020 while living in Australia and now lives in Seattle, traveling frequently between the two countries and pulling inspiration from both.
