Jim Scheller is a kiln-formed glass artist based in Staunton, Illinois. Before shifting into glass, he worked for many years in engineering, technology, and design, a combination that shaped the way he understands structure, pattern, and how things come together. Scheller’s ongoing Ancient Rings series is built from thousands of individually cut glass elements arranged in layered ring formations. His work explores continuity, time, and the way meaning emerges slowly through the making process. Each piece balances intention and discovery, guided by the same mix of precision and curiosity that has shaped his life and work.
