Andre Petterson’s pieces are staccato moments in time, captured through the process the artist has developed involving a myriad of techniques. Often building an installation or sculptural form, Petterson then creates photographs which are combined with painting to achieve his unique compositions. Interested in light, contrast, motion, and kineticsm, Petterson’s work is an ever-evolving reflection of our world.

Working in his signature mixed media format integrating photography and paint, the artist places a water-bird (possibly an anhinga) at the edge of an expanse of water, with a wave unfurling in the middle ground. The composition shows Petterson's technique of overlaying the image with translucent white brushstrokes, further suggesting the amorphous realm between dream and waking.
