Company is essential to life, not simply human to human. Over time, I have become increasingly aware that, either directly or indirectly, our species is linked to an irreplaceable complexity of plants, animals, and habitats that compose our home. Within this network exists life-sustaining connections between species and habitats, some of which I celebrate here in sculptural form.
These connections have been fashioned by the forces of evolution and time. Herein is an assemblage of work conceived and developed through witnessing moments largely just outside my studio doors, amid the woodlands, along streams, at the edge of the tides, and throughout the seasons, each bringing forth its own subtle, yet unique moments. — Tony Angell
