Edge of the Woods, 1/1
The borders of distinct ecosystems can be exclusive locations that provide for the welfare of a species. Along stream edges, we catch glimpses of foraging mink, as rendered elsewhere in the exhibition. Here, in proximity to deeper woods, a great horned owl can scan for prey that emerges from the woodlands to forage in the borders of open ground of a meadow. The woods are available to the owl for roosting and nesting. — Tony Angell
