Judgement, 1/1
At Pt. Colville on Lopez Island, we often hear the cacophonous calls of ravens emerging from the deeper portions of the forests. Their tone is often loud and severe, to suggest to me the likelihood the birds have gathered to scold and rage against a nearby predator, perhaps a great horned owl, an eagle or possibly a migrating goshawk. Such is the ravens’ version of “get out,” “leave,” “you’re not welcome.” Judgement has been rendered. — Tony Angell
