Welcoming Jacob Feige and kwonny to the gallery for the first time, alongside works by Alden Mason and George Rodriguez. Across the exhibition, color, pattern, and line intersect and interact with the figural form. In some works, the figure generates narrative—drawing on mythology, personal symbolism, and cross-cultural references—while in others it serves as a structural foundation for the development of abstract compositions.
Jacob Feige uses cast acrylic forms to render human likeness that draw equally on Byzantine icons and Modernist portraiture. Geometric cutaways reveal a canvas below, depicting stair and scaffolding patterns suggesting an architectural scale, monumental humans inhabited by numerous selves. kwonny’s work observes and responds to relationships between predator and prey, and between people and the natural environment. Referencing imagery replicated within myths and depicted with similar visual patterns across history and cultures. George Rodriguez’s figures express human emotion and invite us to consider ourselves as human vessel, and how we carry the transformations caused by our own rituals and behavior. Alden Mason’s figural forms are imbued with contagious energy, generating a sense of action across his canvases. Simplistic outlines leave space for the interior, where he appears to be exploring not only anatomy but also the psychology of his subjects.
