Mark Rediske creates works that feel of the earth, referencing horizons, sky, and terrain, while capturing an otherworldly or mystic sense of freedom. Certain elements conjure ancient civilizations; titles explore both mythology and physical places, leaving us with something that affirms our own encounters with greatness beyond human comprehension. Developing a process that has allowed him to achieve unique effects in his work, Rediske is both a master craftsman and an eloquent painter. Recently exploring more painterly mark making on the surfaces of his panels, Rediske shows a great capacity for composition and fluidity.
