Eva Isaksen's work are on display at the National Nordic Museum in Seattle from December 2, 2025 through March 22, 2026. The museum was founded in 1979 and showcases the history and culture of the Nordic region and the experience of Nordic immigrants to the United States. Isaksen, who was born and raised in Bodø, Norway, attended college in South Dakota and Montana then moved to Seattle in 1990.

The exhibition, Shapes for Fall, features eight works, inspired by Isaksen's residency in Willow Creek, Montana as well as her Norwegian heritage.

Eva Isaksen, Rhythm, collage on canvas, 40 x 30 inches

The work in this exhibition is based on nature the way I experience it.

Landscapes I have visited, flowers I grow in my garden, lines and shapes I have seen, it is all mixed and forms my abstractions.

Pages from vintage magazines I have inherited from my grandfather’s bookstore in Northern Norway are used as collage material, together with Nepalese papers, paints and inks.

Through my work I find a balance in these unsettling times. - Eva Isaksen
